Cell division: Biochemically controlled mechanics
نویسنده
چکیده
Technical advances are providing new insights into the mechanical properties of cells. Now, by combining genetic and biochemical studies with high-resolution mechanical measurements from atomic force microscopy, the biochemical bases of mechanical processes such as cytokinesis should be discernible.

Deconvolution of the Cellular Force-Generating Subsystems that Govern Cytokinesis Furrow Ingression
Cytokinesis occurs through the coordinated action of several biochemically-mediated stresses acting on the cytoskeleton. Here, we develop a computational model of cellular mechanics, and using a large number of experimentally measured biophysical parameters, we simulate cell division under a number of different scenarios. We demonstrate that traction-mediated protrusive forces or contractile fo...

Native de-oiled and treated castor seed meal was subjected to proximate analysis and quantification of anti-nutrients (phytochemicals). Seed cake was treated by biochemical technique of solid state fermentation with Aspergillus niger and addition of calcium oxide (CaO) to give treated castor seed meal (TCSM). One hundred and twenty Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were fed four (4) ...
متن کاملStresses at the Cell Surface during Animal Cell Morphogenesis
Cell shape is determined by cellular mechanics. Cell deformations in animal cells, such as those required for cell migration, division or epithelial morphogenesis, are largely controlled by changes in mechanical stress and tension at the cell surface. The plasma membrane and the actomyosin cortex control surface mechanics and determine cell surface tension. Tension in the actomyosin cortex prim...

Background: At present, cancer can be controlled by chemotherapy, but unfortunately, this method has strong side effects and scientist try to reduce them using different substances. 2 kinds of activated water called anolyte and catholyte have electrochemical property and antibacterial and oxidative properties respectively. The aim of this research is to study the effect of anolyte on growth a...
